Our Story

   We consider it an honor and privilege to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through song. Our desire for this ministry is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.  We also want to bring hope and encouragement to fellow believers. We are a Southern Gospel Quartet based out of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Our group was formed in early 1991 and we have been serving the Lord through music ever since. This group was started when 4 guys got together to sing some Christmas songs at our home church.  The members of the church told us that we had a good sound and should do something with it. We then formed the group now known as " The New Found Four". There have been very few changes over the years. The first tenor singer (Allen Handy) stayed with the group for 2 years before moving on. A few months later a new tenor singer (Shannon Back) came on board and stayed until 1996. He left the group because God had called him to become a Preacher. We are really proud to have had Shannon Back and Allen Handy with us for those years. In 1996 the Lord lead a new tenor singer to the group. His name is Jimmy Smith and though his background was in bluegrass, it did not take him long to gain a love for Southern Gospel.  In the early part of 2001 God was at work in this group. Gary Oney had decided to leave to pursue other ventures. Tommy Wood came on board in the later part of 2000 as our sound engineer. When Gary left the Lord lead Tommy to us to be our new lead singer and he accepted his new role with the group and is doing a wonderful job.  Our group is made up of born again Believers, who are faithful to our work for the Lord.  We all work full time jobs and travel as the Lord opens doors of opportunity.  The main goal of our ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song and personal testimonies. We have an upbeat and fun style of music but still with the serious attitude and recognition that there are lives that needed to be transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ. In 1998 we had the opportunity to record in the studio. Our latest project is entitled  " Time has made a change".  We feel that this has been done only through the bountiful blessing of God and therefore we do not charge for our ministry to come and share, we come on a free will love offering if the church or organization so desires. We also do not put a price on our Music or our Ministry, as we feel it may, in some way, put a price on God's work.  We do however travel on a " Love Offering " basis. We only ask you to give as the Lord has directed you to do so. It is our hope that you would give prayerful consideration to allowing us to share the gospel through song to you and your congregation. The sincerity, desire to serve God, and talent of each member provides a foundation which will make the music of The New Found Four reach out to uplift and encourage the Christian, as well as " Lift Him High" for winning the lost to Christ. Throughout a singing with The New Found Four, the listener will realize the strong sense of Christian joy with which the group serves. From the first note to the last, the listener is exhilarated, ministered to, and entertained. A singing with Jimmy, Tommy, Steve and Dennis will be one you will keep in your heart and mind for a long time.
